It’s time to review our 2026 Town budget! For the 11th consecutive year, tax rates haven’t increased for our main operating and highway funds, without any impact to services. We met the NYS tax cap which limits tax increases to 2%. There was again a ZERO dollar levy for the Planning, Zoning and Building Department Services and we have maintained a top tier Aa3 credit rating. Financially, we are in a good place. Our General Fund is invested safely and wisely, generating over $1.0M in earnings this year. Taxes are stable and we are steadily growing our tax base with new projects hitting the tax rolls annually. Your team at the Town of Thompson works hard to improve our quality of life: investing in parks and activities, keeping your sewer and water facilities in top shape, and maintaining a balanced budget. We attract investment because we are stable, predictable, and always ready to try something new and exciting. Wishing you all a wonderful year full of enjoyment and good health. Always feel free to reach out! Best wishes to Scott Mace who will be taking over the Supervisor’s role for 2026.
Sincerely, Bill Rieber
