DESCRIPTION:*New Location! Highway Barn at 33 Jefferson Street in Monticello* Shred Day is coming up on October 19th\, from 9am until noon. Protect yourself from identity theft and fraud! Shred Day is when Thompson individuals can securely dispose of documents containing sensitive and personal information\, free of charge. Please note that Shred Day is for individuals only\, not commercial operations – and you must be a Town of Thompson resident.***Bring up to 2 legal size boxes full of documents to be shredded. Please respect the 2-box limit per individual as it will be strictly enforced.***Properly shredding documents is essential in protecting personal information. Unfortunately\, identity thieves may sift through trash or recycling bins seeking out documents that have not been shredded. According to a U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) report\, there were 24\,248 cases of identity theft in New York State in 2018 – and that number is on the rise today. New York State ranks #13 in states with the most incidents of identity theft. The Town typically holds two shred days each year\, in the fall and spring.

DESCRIPTION:Bring the entire family to the East Mongaup River Park for a spooktacular (but not scary!) FREE evening of fun on October 19th from 3-6pm! Bring a bag to collect treats along the trail. Come in costume and get in the Halloween spirit. Enjoy hay rides along the trails. Paint a pumpkin. Snack on Halloween treats….and more! Rain date is scheduled for the following evening\, October 20th\,  3-6pm. Check our event’s Facebook page – or the homepage of this website for any weather-related closure information on the day of the event. \n*Organizations\, businesses\, non-profits and groups invited to be a “treat stop” along the trail!
