DESCRIPTION:The Town of Thompson is excited to announce Tennis for Beginners\, a series of FREE weekly summer lessons for youth and adults who reside in Thompson. Lessons will be held at the new Monticello High School tennis courts! This program is in partnership with U.S. Tennis Association (USTA) Eastern and lessons are run by Coach Tutu Gupta\, who has decades of experience coaching tennis. Equipment and instruction are provided! \nLessons will be held on Wednesdays from July 17th through August 14th for youth from 5:30-6:30 pm and for adults from 6:30-7:30 pm. DESCRIPTION:The Town of Thompson Youth Program will be travelling to the Bronx Zoo on July 13th\, 2024 by bus and all Town of Thompson youth are invited to join us. The cost is $10 per person (plus a small $2.45 EventBrite fee for a total of $12.45) and all participants must be residents of the Town. Your group must be accompanied by an adult chaperone\, who must also purchase a ticket. One adult per child max\, and up to 3 kids per adult max. Adults must accompany a Town of Thompson youth. \nYou can securely purchase a ticket via EventBrite right here\, which reserves your spot for the trip! \nThe bus will leave promptly at 8AM from Thompson Town Hall and return at approximately 6PM on the same day – July 13th. \nPlease sign up for our newsletter here – or email Jamie at the town at jferriero@townofthompson.com to get notified of future youth programs and events.

SUMMARY:Spring Litter Pluck at Hamilton Road
DESCRIPTION:Everyone is invited to join in a community litter pluck on Saturday\, May 4th\, from 9am until noon\, which will take place along Hamilton Road. Parking is available at a bungalow colony located on Hamilton Road\, just 300 feet from Forestburgh Road. \nGarbage bags will be provided and volunteers can simply leave the bags for the Town to pick up after littler plucking. Please wear comfortable\, sturdy shoes and brightly colored clothing. \nJoining the litter pluck is also a great chance for people to discover what it’s like to adopt a road. The Town Adopt-a-Road program is officially underway. Individuals\, groups of people\, businesses\, and other organizations can adopt a road for free. Once adopted\, the road should be litter plucked at least once per year for a two-year period. The Town then provides a custom sign on the road that announces which group has adopted it. Roads are adopted in stretches that are no longer than 2 miles. DESCRIPTION:Don’t wait…space is filling fast! It’s time to get your child signed up for YMCA Summer Camp\, held at East Mongaup River Park! On Tuesday\, April 30th\, from 3:00 – 6:30 pm\, you can come into the Town Hall 4052 Route 42 in Monticello\, to register your child/ren for summer camp. \nABOUT SUMMER CAMP: The Town of Thompson YMCA Summer Camp runs daily from 8:30 am until 5 pm\, July 1st through August 16th. Camp is open to children ages 5-14 (must have turned 5 by December 1st\, 2023). Note: No camp on July 4th\, 2024. \nFill out and print the 2024 Form for YMCA Summer Camp in Thompson and bring it with you along with the following items:  \nTo register\, bring a copy of your child’s current immunization records and proof of Thompson residency. Proof of residency items include current utility or sanitation bill\, tax bill\, mortgage statement\, printed rent receipt\, report card\, or letter from school. Registration must be paid in full. The cost is $350 per child.
